Send us unpublished fiction, not reprints, up to ~3,000 words. Read what we've published to get a sense of our taste — more poetry than cinema, more idiosyncrasy than generalization, more examination than explanation. Writing that could only be made by a person. Beyond that, surprise us, and surprise yourself.

We also welcome submissions of new translations of fiction. Please indicate clearly in the cover letter that your submission is a translation and that you hold appropriate translation and publication rights.

Please double space your submission in an unobtrusive font of reasonable size so we can focus on your story and not how difficult it is to read (this is increasingly helpful as our eyes keep getting older). Simultaneous submissions are fine but please do not send multiple submissions. We request that submitters wait a couple of months after receiving a response before submitting again, to help us keep up with the queue.
